Bio :
Shlomit is Board Certified Patient Advocate trained as a medical Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). As an SLP, she specialized in diagnosing and treating swallowing, cognitive, and communication disorders in adults. She holds an MS in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University and an MA in Cognitive Sciences and Linguistics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. After a decade of working at top-tier hospitals such as Stanford University Hospital and New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and seeing the great need for empowering patients and their families in making informed decisions during their medical journey, she decided to launch a healthcare advocacy service. Today, she focuses on managing medical crises - helping clients to achieve a safe and timely hospital care and a person-centered discharge plan. She is an experienced public speaker in topics related to hospital preparedness, strategies for a safe hospital stay and discharge, and education regarding best practices for managing swallowing, language, and cognitive disorders.
